Top most popular aesthetic procedures people opt for

Besides that, each of us has certain problematic physical traits, certain aspects that we do not like and that we would like to correct. Fortunately, there are a multitude of aesthetic procedures that can be used to improve or correct a person’s physical appearance. Continue reading to discover some of the most requested such procedures.
1. Liposuction
One of the most popular aesthetic procedures is liposuction. It involves aspirating unsightly fat deposits from certain areas of the body to obtain a slimmer, better-contoured silhouette. Abdominal liposuction and thigh liposuction are among the most requested interventions of this type, especially when diet and exercise are not enough to obtain the desired results.

There are several types of liposuction. Tumescent liposuction, for example, consists of injecting a mixture of saline and other substances into the areas to be treated, followed by aspiration of this liquid, together with the fat, with the help of instruments called cannulas.
A more modern method is Vaser Lipo liposuction, which involves the use of ultrasound to detach fat cells from the supporting structure before aspirating them.[5] This technique has several advantages compared to classical techniques, but more information on this topic is available here.
2. Breast augmentation
We cannot talk about aesthetic procedures without mentioning breast augmentation. It is a procedure that you can use to change the shape and volume of the breasts, but also to correct any asymmetry of them.

For this purpose, different types of implants can be used – with saline or with silicone, round or teardrop-shaped (anatomical implants) – depending on the particularities of each case, but also on the desired results. For example, if you want a natural look, you might prefer anatomical implants, but if you want a more pronounced effect, round implants might be a more suitable solution for you.[3][5]
In addition to implants, another method of breast augmentation is breast lipofilling, which involves extracting a quantity of fat from the adipose tissue and injecting it into the breasts.[3]
3. Facelift
Facelift is another popular aesthetic procedure and one that both women and men are increasingly turning to when they want to get rid of wrinkles and sagging skin and erase the traces that the passage of years and lifestyle have left on their faces.

Depending on the targeted areas and the desired results, various types of facelift can be performed, including:
- Standard facelift;
- Mini facelift;
- Midface lift.
Regardless of the type of lifting performed, the procedure itself involves lifting and repositioning the skin and soft tissue of the face. Often, it is combined with other procedures that can improve the appearance of the face and neck. Such an operation will last a few hours, but the results, even if they are not permanent, last for a long time (approximately 10 years).[4][5]
4. Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty or nose reshaping surgery is another popular procedure among both women and men. Through this procedure, the appearance and proportions of the nose can be improved, which will have a significant impact on the overall physical appearance.

There are 2 main types of rhinoplasty: closed and open. The difference between the two consists in the location of the incisions – outside the nose, under the nostrils (at the level of the columella), or inside the nose. Also, various techniques and instruments can be used.[5][6]
For example, Dr. Olimpiu Hârceagă is one of the few surgeons in the country who performs ultrasonic rhinoplasties, i.e. procedures during which, instead of traditional instruments, a piezosurgery device is used. Here you can find out what advantages this type of rhinoplasty has.
5. Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty is the procedure that can be used if you want to improve the appearance of the area around the eyes. You can get rid of, for example, bags under the eyes or fat deposits on the upper eyelid, as well as excess skin on the lower or upper eyelids.

Although it is a procedure that can be performed for purely aesthetic purposes, it can also help improve vision, especially in the case of older people or those with drooping eyelids.[2][5]
6. Injections with botulinum toxin or hyaluronic acid
If you are among those interested in non-surgical aesthetic procedures, you have certainly heard of injections with botulinum toxin or hyaluronic acid. Both are minimally invasive procedures, which many people resort to, but have different indications and modes of action.
Treatment with botulinum toxin or botox is recommended for treating wrinkles caused by facial contractions. This toxin works by blocking nerve signals in the muscles into which it is injected. When those nerve signals are interrupted, the muscle is temporarily paralyzed or frozen, which will lead to a visible improvement in wrinkles or even their disappearance. The results last for a few months.
Hyaluronic acid, on the other hand, is a filler, that is, a substance that can be injected under the skin to add volume to sunken areas. It can be used to enlarge the lips, improve the appearance of wrinkles and scars, or restore volume and definition to certain areas of the face. Depending on the type of filler used, the results can last up to 2 years.[1]
The list of aesthetic procedures that can be used to improve a person’s physical appearance is long and diverse. The ones mentioned above are just a few of the most popular surgical or non-surgical procedures that you can use if you are dissatisfied with the way a certain area of your body looks. Schedule a consultation now with Dr. Olimpiu Hârceagă to find out what procedures can offer you the results you want.
