Liposuction & Fat Transfer
Liposuction and fat transfer represent a modern combination of aesthetic procedures that allow harmonious body remodeling, using the patient’s own adipose tissue. Through liposuction, excess fat is extracted from areas such as the abdomen, thighs, hips, or arms, and this fat is then processed and reinjected into other body regions that require volume, such as the buttocks, breasts, face, or hands.
This technique has the advantage of simultaneously improving two body areas: one through contouring and slimming, the other through natural volumization. Unlike implants or synthetic substances, fat transfer uses autologous material, which means a reduced risk of adverse reactions or rejection. The results are generally durable and provide a pleasant, natural appearance, both visually and to the touch.
Liposuction and fat transfer are preferred procedures for those who desire a delicate and balanced redefinition of body contour, without excessive interventions. With proper planning and performed by an experienced physician, these techniques can significantly contribute to body harmony and regaining confidence in one’s self-image.
Facial & Neck Liposuction
Are you bothered by excess fat in the cheek, chin, and neck area?
Diet and exercise can help many areas of the body, but nothing seems to diminish the fat deposits on the cheeks, chin, jaw, or neck. These areas typically do not respond to diet and exercise. There are cases when careful diet and dedicated exercise routine do not reduce this persistent fat. Many people turn to facial liposuction as a solution.
01. What is facial liposuction?
Liposuction surgery is performed to remove unwanted deposits of fat cells from the body. Liposuction was initially designed to contour the body. Your surgeon performing the liposuction surgery uses a special tube called a cannula. The cannula is inserted through a tiny incision placed in a minimally visible location on the face or neck. Using an aspiration syringe or pump attached to the cannula, fat cells are extracted. The result is a reshaping of sunken surfaces into more attractive and youthful facial contours.
In younger patients, facial liposuction is most often effective as a single procedure. In older patients, it may produce optimal results when combined with a facelift, brow lift, eyelid surgery, or nose surgery. It is often performed together with chin or cheek implants to achieve better definition.
02. Is fat removal permanently effective?
Yes! After puberty, our body no longer produces new fat cells in large numbers. When you gain weight, the volume of fat cells we already have actually increases. Facial liposuction removes fat cells to improve facial contour.
If you gain weight after facial liposuction, it will be deposited in the fat cells that remain in your body. The localized fat deposits that existed before liposuction can no longer expand except proportionally with the surrounding areas.
Will I need a second procedure?
A single procedure is usually sufficient. However, some patients require a minor adjustment procedure at a later date.
Is facial liposuction right for you?
If excess fatty tissue on your face or neck bothers you, facial liposuction may be the answer for you. Your doctor can help you determine the best treatment to achieve your desired results.
Liquid Facelift (Liposuction + Facial Lipofilling)
Dr. Olimpiu Hârceagă uses extracted fat from the lower facial level for selected cases to restructure the upper level, especially the cheek and periocular area. Liposuction combined with facial lipofilling can substitute a classic facelift for young patients. The combined procedure is called liquid facelift and can be performed under local anesthesia in complete comfort for the patient.
This procedure combines liposuction with lipofilling to restore the youthful appearance of the face. Aging changes facial contour. Fat normally present around the eyes and at the cheek level tends to descend due to gravity and accumulates at the jaw level, creating the “jowl” appearance. Through liquid facelift, Dr. Hârceagă aspirates fat from the jowl level, neck, mandibular margin and injects it into areas where there is a deficit: cheeks, periorbital, nasolabial fold.
This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, enhanced with intravenous sedation. The patient can leave the hospital the same day.
Recovery after the procedure
Usually swelling and minor bruising are the only visible post-procedure signs. Normally after 3 days post-procedure, residual signs can be masked with makeup and after 7 days they disappear completely. The final result can be evaluated at 3 months when minor corrections can be made if necessary in the office.
