I'm Dr. Olimpiu Hârceagă, a plastic surgeon with dual specialisation in Plastic Surgery and Dermatology, registered with the General Medical Council (UK). I trained at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford University Hospitals, and I have performed hundreds of rhinoplasties. For me, every half-millimetre matters.
Surgery, hospital stay, airport transfers and nine nights' accommodation included. Flights booked by you.
Real patient experiences and rhinoplasty follow-ups with Dr. Olimpiu Hârceagă.
I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Cluj-Napoca and went on to eleven years of training, including three years abroad: John Radcliffe Hospital (Oxford University Hospitals), UZ Brussels, Klinikum Bogenhausen München and Marienhospital Stuttgart. I collaborate with clinics in London and I am registered with the General Medical Council. I hold a Ph.D. in medicine, with research on the excision of facial skin tumours through Mohs surgery.
My approach to the nose is conservative and anatomical: I work with your existing structure, preserve the airway, and use ultrasonic techniques where they give a cleaner result. If you want a change that keeps the balance of your face, I offer a personalised, discreet and honest opinion. Beauty means harmony, not excess.
From the moment you land in Romania until we take you back to the airport, the essential details are arranged for you — so you can focus on your surgery and recovery.
Airport transfers, your hospital stay, nine nights of accommodation, breakfast, medication and medical supplies are included. One companion may share your hotel room at no additional accommodation cost.
We meet you at the airport and take you to the clinic. You meet Dr. Hârceagă and the anaesthetist to confirm your surgical plan. Any additional or repeat blood tests requested by the anaesthetist can be completed before surgery.
Option 1: stay overnight at the clinic.
Option 2: after your consultations, stay at one of our selected hotels near the clinic.
Your rhinoplasty takes place the following day. After surgery, you remain overnight at the clinic under medical supervision. Full board is provided during your hospital stay.
Once medically cleared, you receive the medication and medical supplies required for recovery. We take you to a selected hotel close to the clinic, where Dr. Hârceagă remains available if you have questions, concerns or possible complications.
Depending on your return flight, Dr. Hârceagă sees you on the afternoon of day six or the morning of day seven. When clinically appropriate, he removes the external dressing and internal silicone splints and gives you personalised recovery instructions.
After your post-operative check, we arrange your airport transfer. You return home with written instructions and continued access to the aftercare included in your treatment plan.
The package includes a total of nine nights of accommodation. One companion may share your room at no additional accommodation cost. Breakfast is included for the patient and companion during hotel stays; the patient receives full board during hospitalisation. Flights are booked separately.
Once your surgery date is agreed, you receive an invoice for a €1,000 deposit, payable within the stated period to secure the booking. The remaining balance is paid after surgery and no later than your first post-operative consultation. All surgical payments are made in euros.
Private rhinoplasty in the UK generally runs between £6,000 and £10,000 for the surgery alone. The package price includes surgery, hospital stay, airport transfers and nine nights of accommodation. Flights are the only part you arrange yourself.
Cluj-Napoca has direct flights from London and Manchester. Romania is part of the European Union, so having surgery here does not mean leaving the European healthcare environment. My registration with the UK's General Medical Council can be checked independently, before you commit to anything.
We collect you from the airport, and I see you the day before surgery and again on day seven, when the splint comes off before you fly home.
Anything not covered here, ask me directly on the video consultation.
Nine nights. You arrive the day before surgery for your face-to-face consultation and pre-operative tests, have surgery the following morning, and stay until day seven, when I remove the splint and clear you to fly. Flying home the same week without that check is not something I agree to.
The online consultation is £34 (200 lei), paid when you book your slot. It lasts around 30 minutes, it is with me personally, and it carries no obligation to go ahead with surgery.
The £4,750 (≈ €5,500) package covers the surgeon's fee, the anaesthetist and operating theatre, your hospital stay, airport transfers in Cluj-Napoca, nine nights in a three-star hotel near the clinic, all in-clinic follow-up during your stay including splint removal on day seven, and video reviews at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months. The £5,200 (≈ €6,000) package is identical with four-star accommodation. A companion can stay with you at no additional accommodation cost. Flights are the only part you book yourself, and no fees are added later.
You leave with my direct contact details and a written recovery plan. In the first two weeks you can message me at any time with a photograph if something worries you. Scheduled video reviews follow at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months, and I am happy to write to your GP in the UK if you would like your records updated.
That is the whole point of how I operate. I work with your existing anatomy rather than imposing a template, which is why I decline requests that would not suit a face. No surgeon can promise a specific outcome. What I can promise is an honest opinion at the consultation about what is achievable and what is not.
Most bruising and swelling settle within two to three weeks; patients usually return to office work after ten to fourteen days. The nose continues to refine for up to a year, and tip definition is the last thing to settle.
Yes. I am registered with the General Medical Council (No. 7481309) and I collaborate with clinics in London, so a face-to-face review in the UK can often be arranged if you need one.
Dr. Olimpiu Hârceagă consults at the following locations: Cluj-Napoca, Calea Turzii Street no. 134-136 (Oculens Clinic), Sibiu, Rusciorului Street no. 18 (Proctoven Clinic) or online via video conference.
